OUR STORY

In 2012, Jeff and Pam Burke became the pastors.  In 2014 the church and school merged the name of the school with the church, to become Solid Rock Church of God and Christian Academy.  Since 2012, the church has grown and developed into a thriving spirit-filled church with attendence records of over 100 attenders.  Solid Rock Church of God continues to welcome new visitors and families into their dynamic services, which always include a specific time in the service devoted to praying for their congregation’s needs.

THE EARLY YEARS

Solid Rock was organized in Oct. 1989 by Reverend James Cook.  One year later Pastor Herman and Ilene Sears came to Inverness to take the then “Harvest Temple” to its next stage of growth.  Pastor Sears remained at Harvest Temple for 7 years.  The next pastor stayed at the church for about 15 years.  During this time, the name was changed to Christ Way Fellowship.  The church grew and added a Christian school, Solid Rock Christian Academy

Solid Rock Christian Academy had its beginning Kindergarten class in 1998 at Inverness Church of God with 13 students. Pastor Larry Powers led by the Holy Spirit asked Pastor Gary Beasley to begin a Christian School.  After 2 years, it was realized that with limited land to build, Solid Rock Christian Academy could be moved to the 12 acres on Independence Highway, at Christ Way Fellowship Church of God. Over the years there have been many changes and additions that have taken place.  Today, the school has over 200 students and is continuing to grow!
